AquaPups
Our AquaSafe AquaPups course not only teaches swim skills, but personal water safety and lifesaving - all in the same fun format that helps children learn!
We teach to the Swim England (ASA) levels, as these are progressive and develop the stroke technique, as well as stamina, fitness and endurance. But we also introduce our own AquaPups levels that take into account additional water safety and lifesaving skills.
The programme has been designed so that we can concentrate on a stroke or technique in the bulk of each lesson, but with the addition of lifesaving skills at the end of each session. The lessons are 40 minutes long.
The lifesaving element is aimed at educating children about being safe in and around water so they can have fun in a safe environment. They are taught how to identify hazards and danger in different water environments, and what to do to avoid them. They learn how to be safe in the water and how to help others if they are in danger.
They also learn how to deal with different emergency situations, how to call the Emergency Services for help, First Aid skills to treat common injuries and ailments and how to recognise and deal with a conscious and unconscious casualty.
The aim for AquaPups, as with all of our courses, is to have fun while learning new skills - so expect some floating, sculling, lifesaving, synchro, and maybe even a bit of mer-person activity in lessons!!
